She opened that jar of pickles like a champ. And yeah, it's a stereotype, that ladies have trouble opening jars of stuff, but she really put a grip on it and you can tell she put it all out there. At her age, and I'm not trying to be sexist or ageist here, I do believe she had to muscle it open.

My mom would've probably said "nope," and handed the jar to me (she's 70, don't hate my observation here, why do it when you have a fully bodied able son to do it for you).
