After Donald Trump on Monday called for the “corrupt” Clinton Foundation to shutter immediately, Hillary Clinton’s campaign fired back that it’s Trump’s turn to “stop hiding behind fake excuses” and “come clean with voters” on his finances.

"The Foundation has already laid out the unprecedented steps the charity will take if Hillary Clinton becomes president,” campaign chairman John Podesta said in a statement. “Donald Trump needs to come clean with voters about his complex network of for-profit businesses that are hundreds of millions of dollars in debt to big banks, including the state-owned Bank of China, and other business groups with ties to the Kremlin.”

Podesta continued: “Donald Trump should stop hiding behind fake excuses and release his tax returns and immediately disclose the full extent of his business interests. He must commit to fully divesting himself from all of his business conflicts to ensure that he is not letting his own financial interests affect decisions made by his potential administration."...

BuzzFeed reported the Clinton Foundation has spent months drafting plans for the sprawling foundation to pull back and consolidate nearly all of its ongoing initiatives around the globe, dramatically downsizing the foundation in an effort to avoid conflicts of interest if Hillary Clinton is elected.

You know, I find it amazing that people can take Trump's attacks seriously anymore. I mean, Donald Trump calling the Clinton Foundation the most corrupt enterprise in political history is just too rich.

If her campaign spent its time responding to all of the crap they are throwing at her, they'd get nothing else done. Heck, can you imagine the time alone that has to go into just deciding which attacks merit a response?

I believe we have lost elections in the past because of this sort of thing. Of course, we need a rapid response team. But Hillary should not always be on the defensive, answering these attacks.

She needs to get her own ideas out there. Trump is trying to keep her on the defensive. She shows class and dignity by not responding to his blustering and lies. Let her team decide which crap to answer. Let her surrogates and her ads provide most of those answers.

7. Trump is under no legal contraints to release tax returns because of an audit. Nor does he need to

withold returns from previous years. He doens't want people to see that he is not the great businessman he pretends to be. He's a fraud and a con-man.
