Trump tells Fox host black Americans have ‘no education, no anything’ — so they should vote for him
In an interview with Fox News host Jeanine Pirro, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump said that American blacks have “no health care, no education, no anything” and that their lives are “a total catastrophe.”
Think Progress reported Saturday night on the interview, in which the candidate attempted to expand upon his remarks to an all-white crowd on Friday in which he said that after four years in the White House, he’s win 95 percent of the African-American vote. Commentators on TV and the Internet found that assertion risible.
Trump appeared on Pirro’s show via telephone. On Friday, he visited the flood-ravaged state of Louisiana where residents criticized him for staging a “photo op” in the middle of a widespread natural disaster.
For black Americans, Trump said, “It’s just, like, a total catastrophe, the unemployment rates, everything is bad — no health care, no education, no anything, no anything. And poverty is unbelievable. Then, I said, ‘Hey, wait a minute, vote for me. What have you got to lose? You can’t do worse, you can’t do any worse than what these people have been doing and I will do better.'”
