Would the media be giving David Duke a free ride were he the R candidate for POTUS?

Would they be taking him seriously as a candidate?

Would the hateful things he's said in the past be off the table for discussion? How about the hateful things he says today?

Would his domestic and foreign policies be treated like serious proposals?

Would his overtly racist supporters be given a pass because "there are zealots on both sides of the aisle?"

Were he polling at 35% in some polls as is Trump, would they be waiting with bated breath for him to pivot to becoming a "normal" candidate so they could begin to trumpet his amazing comeback?

I'm guessing the answer is "no."

And I'm further guessing that the only reason the media doesn't apply the same standard to Donald Trump that they apply to a David Duke is because Trump is rich. Because when you get right down to it, Trump's $ is the only thing that's significantly different between the two of them.

You know "people are talking about this candidate(Duke)" and "we have to present both sides".
