On the national stage, the Trump train stalls

Donald Trump hasn't quite asked the dead to vote for him, but he's nearly there.

"I joke a lot as I say if you're sick, if you just got the worse prognosis that a doctor can give you, if you're lying in bed and you just know you're not going to make it -- you have to get up on November 8th and you have to vote," he said Thursday.

At least nine times in the speech to evangelical leaders in key swing state Florida, the brash 70-year-old billionaire -- sometimes speaking in an uncharacteristically low voice -- called on them to ensure their parishioners cast their ballots for him.

The Republican presidential candidate is a bit worried about his chances in November against Hillary Clinton, and he's not exactly hiding it.

And that he was going to go back to a nice life and take a long vacation?

I guess he forgot to mention that he wants to serve American citizens of all races and ethnic groups. Or that he can be relied on to practice diplomacy among world leaders who know more than he does. Maybe he has been a little busy with his businesses that he SAYS are getting better since his campaign began. Funny that. No telling what kinds of conflicts of interests that would generate as a presidential pick. The media does no investigative journalism anymore but he feels they pick on him a lot anyway. But no matter, there are always those fabulous Russian loans and business deals that will spin like a casino roulette table when he wins. If he wins.

I imagine, he expects that, well, democracy will just have to take a back seat sometimes. Afterall he is a busy man who wants us all to understand how very important he is. For those who don't understand, surely they must be losers. That White House mansion with all those tricked out antiques will probably make a nice museum. The thing to do is just wipe out all the negative stuff, like the portraits of Democratic presidents, especially those of a certain color. And that whole Air Force I thing-of course it will be needed to transport the Greatest whenever, wherever.

But what's necessary to understand is that everything will be done with greatness you know. The Justice Dept. will be a nice addition to the Trump legal team that is already securing peace and prosperity for THE Donald. The military will be his to keep American families safe while killing the sons and daughters that parents have raised so carefully; keeping them from germs, choosing the right school, sports, you know all that stuff that Trump himself hasn't invested in with his own progeny.

Its all good. Times will be bad, really bad, for everybody but Trump. But that's the secret of the special sperm children, they live, we die, unless we stop them.
