2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumWhy are the Ecuadorians indulging Assange?
Honest question. At this point I don't get it. He's taking up space in a London Embassy so he doesn't get sent back on a rape charge.
And for what? It's plain there is no higher purpose at play, if ever there was one. He's in the bag for Trump, which will be bad for the US, for Ecuador, and for all life forms on the planet (those that have a working soul, anyway)
What am I missing here?

(10,624 posts)2. Probably because we had their Presidential plane forced down in order to look for Snowden.
It was a real overreach, in my opinion.

(3,660 posts)3. It was a Bolivian plane carrying Evo Morales that was forced down.
And Assange has had santuary there since before that incident.
I screwed the pooch on that one.
