2. Don't let him get away with it. It was intentional. He knows what it means. He'll play innocent...

... and try to make you believe he meant something different, but don't believe it.

We don't have to meet court-of-law prosecutorial standards before we can condemn and call-out behavior like that. We know EXACTLY what he meant! It was an inflammatory lie, followed by a call-to-action for his supporters.

IT WAS A THREAT!!

His denying what he meant by that is along the lines of someone denying that "see you next Tuesday" doesn't mean anything vulgar and misogynistic either.

3. He knows how to get free publicity and not to be held accountable.

He knows people will get riled up about this but that he will get lots of free air time and that lots of ignoramuses will be attracted rather than repulsed by his comments.

4. It's sure getting a lot of media attention.

People are genuinely shocked. Even the media talking heads seem stunned. It's just starting to gather traction, and once the bewilderment wears off and they start thinking about what Trump said, maybe they'll tell us that American is not going to become and Banana Republic where assassination is a substitute for the ballot box.

6. But he said "I don't know" at the end of his spiel.

So clearly he was just kind of, sort of asking a question. Right?

God, I want to see this man publicly humiliated in the worst ways possible.

But this is proof positive that Trump should not receive ANY classified information during his campaign. He is not to be trusted.

They had viable candidates but these low-IQ voters loved the idea of a guy who speaks with routine verbal diarrhea could be their nominee.

11. no need to debate what he meant. Assume he meant it the way it
Tue Aug 9, 2016, 06:20 PM
Aug 2016

sounded and the way Sharon Angle meant it and the way Ted Nugent says it. it's not like it's the first time he's threatened people...it's not the first time he encourages violence. it's not the first time republican leaders see guns as the answer to problems. It's not the first time he's ask for help getting over on Hillary. Trump's statement is not made in a vacuum...there's a history to his statements and to gop/nra statements that provide context.

Dem pundits shouldn't give any benefit of the doubt here....should be a black and white....they've more than earned the worst interpretation.

12. The GOP just choked on its own dog whistle
Tue Aug 9, 2016, 06:21 PM

This second amendment euphamism for assassination
has been rightwing armchair commando bluster for years -
from hate radio to hate websites. It's just hateful, sick stuff.
And it's about time that the GOP suffered immense
blowback for its twisted agitprop. As for Trump, fuckem.
