Jill Stein in Moscow criticized US human rights, said nothing about Russian human rights8/6/16 5:31pm by John Aravosis
Green party Jill Stein, who has expressed skepticism about the safety of vaccinations and wifi, has found another thing in the world that she finds dangerous: America.
And Stein decided to go to Moscow last winter to share her concerns.
And, what do you know, shes happy to report she found an audience that agrees with her!
Steins report from Moscow is in the video below. She went to attend a conference hosted by the Russian state propaganda organ. In a sign of the importance Moscow put on the conference, Putin himself joined Stein and other attendees for dinner.

One expert, on describing the many similarities between left- and right-wing extremists, rather amusingly but pointedly noted a big difference as:
Left-wing extremists hate "themselves." I.e., their nation, their nation's left-wing party, etc.
Makes people with this tendency pretty easy to spot. You know, the people who when anyone mentions a problem overseas immediately leap to blame the evil U.S. for everything, so that no responsibility's left over for anyone else to own?

(68,625 posts)Many of the far far far far (wacko not really left) Green types think then a utopian paradise could be achieved like the old USSR...which was not a paradise of course. She does support Putin it seems who is ex-KGB and does not permit real elections anymore.

But left-wing extremists can be very vulnerable to authoritarian leaders and, with their typical overcommitment to only one right answer to everything (their leader's), they've often been lead down very bad roads by bad leaders.
Putin certainly qualifies as an evil, charismatic, authoritarian leader, and just look at the current admiration of, even longing for, his ruthless "strength" on both the right and the far left. This is why the Koch's wooing of the far left makes me so nervous. Join them with angry populists on both the left and right behind a strong figure, chosen by them of course, and they could win elections.

(68,625 posts)Typical for a woman of her class and political inclinations...only the little people have to give up fur and stuff that she still likes even as she claims she does not.

(68,625 posts)However, I would never buy a new fur and have contented myself with a vintage fur stole from the 60's to wear to my son's wedding..cheaper too. My daughters still don't like it but have given offered me amnesty for the stole...as it is almost 60 years old.

(175,747 posts)The 1940s, I think, and it was probably purchased used. Saw my friend wear it once only, but she has a license from the government to own and wear it because the family's ownership predated the ban.
I'm not anti-fur, even own a leather jacket.
