Adviser: Trump economic plan will get campaign back on track
When Donald Trump unveils his plans for "revitalizing the American economy" in a speech Monday, it will get the candidates message back where it belongs, campaign manager Paul Manafort told Fox Sunday Morning Futures.
Manafort said starting Monday, Trump will roll out an economic plan focused on lowering taxes, cutting regulation, boosting energy production and other steps to help the middle class.
"When we do that, we're comfortable that we can get the agenda and the narrative of the campaign back where it belongs, which is comparing the tepid economy under Obama and Clinton versus the kind of growth economy that Mr. Trump wants to build," Manafort said.
The economic plan rollout follows a rocky period for the Trump campaign hes been criticized from all side for his feud with the family of a Muslim-American soldier killed in the Iraq War and has been slipping in the polls, with a Morning Consult survey released Sunday showing Hillary Clinton 9 points ahead.
"At the Democratic convention, what you saw was Hillary Clinton making the same promises over and over again, Manafort told Fox. She's going to raise taxes, lots of taxes, on everyone. That's not going to grow the economy."
