Nervous Nellie/Debbie Downer Poll: Hillary Should Be Ahead By ??

We hear it all the time on DU: Hillary should be ahead of Trump by 10, 15, 20 or more points.

Never mind that such margins are laughable and impossible to achieve in our polarized electorate, where 40-45% of the electorate will vote for a bigoted orangutan as long as he's a Republican; never mind that Hillary's current lead is as high as 15 points in at least one poll; never mind that on average, her lead is comparable to - or even ahead of - the lead Obama held on Romney in 2012 after the conventions. It's Hillary, and Hillary is held to a different standard than others because she's Hillary.

So here's your chance to get it out of your system - vote below to tell us just how far ahead of Trump Hillary should be right now, today. Then please shut the hell up and spare us your nonsensical and arbitrary benchmarks (notice I said "please.&quot

are as racist & bigoted as trump.

HRC is just fine, so my surprise that she's not polling higher isn't a reflection of her or her policies.

On edit: i didn't vote so as to not upset you. 🙊

ANY Republican ticket, even if it has George of the Jungle running with Snidely Whiplash as his VP (any resemblance to the 2000 Republican ticket is strictly coincidental), will win at least 40% of the vote. All you need is about 20 years of Fox "News" and National Hate Radio, plus an "R" in front of the ticket's names, and you have an enviable handicap that we will never enjoy.

Until she has that type of support, we are pretty much doomed.

winning over at least Americans who aren't straight Christian rich White males 100% to 0%. Unfortunately, that's not the case, and it's not her fault. There are plenty of suckers in this country who just shrug off Cinnamon Mussolini's controversial comments and stances, and they'll buy into any negative spin about Democrats. The traditional media also can't be trusted to do its job all the time, and there is an abundance of unreliable online sources.
With all this in mind, HC is in good shape despite all odds. She is still polling ahead outside the MOE despite the number of times in 40 years the media and her political adversaries have attacked her, and her supporters are well-informed, loyal, and enthusiastic towards her.

Unless we have live video of HRC, President Obama, Tim Kaine and Joe Biden kicking puppies and kittens while discussing foreign policy strategy - she's going to win.

There's no horse race here. We saw the media make up a "nail biter horse race" twice for Senator Booker. It was all poll based and they used Christie as a litmus test of "anger in the populace".

At the end of the day - the shiny happy people - including myself are going to show up.

She should win by at least 5%, 10% would be a mandate and 20%+ is what she deserves to win by.

Trump has received at least $2 billion in free media over the past year, with some accounts as high as $3 billion. This is before RW outside groups like the NRA have gone to bat for Trump.

And, Clinton has endured 25 years of attacks and the "politics of personal destruction" against her from the right, from the media and from some of the left.

Judging by those criteria, it's a wonder that Trump isn't ahead.
