The party elite will remove their endorsement of Trump and concede the presidency to Hillary. They will use this to push harder for a Republican congress. Their new line of attack will be: Hillary needs a Republican congress to keep her in check and keep her honest.
--On Edit--
It's critical to keep the ties between Trump and the Republican party as strong as possible. We cannot let their congressional candidates distance themselves from Trump in the general election.

(249 posts)It's a long time until Election Day. Just because things look good now don't mean they won't change. O hope you're right though!

That's what they did in 96' when a Bill was thrashing Dole by double digits. "We can't give Bull a blank check."

It's to our benefit that the Olympics will dominate the headlines now, for two weeks, allowing Hillary's lead to settle in and getting through to September.

(68,667 posts)With Trump refusing to behave properly, the media won't be able to prop him up or hide the fact he is losing as they did successfully with Romney. Let's remember what happend in 12, I was all worried about Romney but hubs said , I don't care what the polls say...skewed or otherwise...he will lose and he lost by numbers that clearly showed the media was in cahoots and hiding the fact he never had a chance.

(68,667 posts)I love these polls...they make my heart sing...but polls go up and polls go down...early days yet. That being said, I think we will beat Trump because America is better than the likes of him. The media is going to go after her because they need a horse race for their ratings.

(11,607 posts)That was the one year I remember knowing who was going to win before election day. I was a kid back then so my memory is a little hazy, but didn't the Republicans kind of give up on Dole and focus their efforts on Congress?
