If you're content with using a term like that, and there's nothing really wrong with it, that's cool, but don't confuse an opinion with a diagnosis. NPD is a miserable existence, with a massive attempt to cover up the misery that overcomes nearly all consideration for others except for their function in trying to defend against the underlying fear.

In some ways the most tragic thing about it is that people can't do just what they and the sufferer want most. They can't "save" that person, and are likely to get harmed as they find that they're not a person to them; they're a function. My advice to someone who is subject to being that person to someone with NPD is very, very often "GET AWAY."

and be able to attend to other things in your life. for trump it is pathological. he cannot help himself. self-centered assholes can grow, learn, and change. trump is emotionally still about 2 years old. a self-centered asshole is usually capable of empathy on some level. for trump that would just make them weak, and he is incapable of it.

speaking as a non-professional of course. trump is a sick puppy which puts him beyond the description of self-centered asshole. and he's dangerous in a way that most self-centered assholes are not.
