In an interview with CNN's Wolf Blitzer, while backtracking her claim that Obama's changing of the rules of engagement likely caused Capt. Khan's death, Katrina Pierson once again quoted the voices in her head, claiming "tens of thousands of soldiers that have been lost, 1 million wounded" in Iraq since March of 2003.

JOHN BERMAN (CO-HOST): Katrina, the words you used, "probably cost his life." "President Obama and Hillary Clinton changed the rules of engagement that probably cost his life." You do acknowledge now that there you were just wrong?
PIERSON: Well, absolutely. That's why I used probably, because I was just going through the timeline, because since then, we have had tens of thousands of soldiers that have been lost, one million wounded. $6 trillion later. How can we possibly put any of the onerous (sic) on Donald Trump. It is absolutely absurd. And that's why you see all this confusion surrounding this issue. Because Donald Trump had absolutely nothing to do with it.

As of June 29, 2016, according to the U.S. Department of Defense casualty website, there were 4,424 total deaths (including both killed in action and non-hostile) and 31,952 wounded in action as a result of Operation Iraqi Freedom, not the "tens of thousands" and "one million" Pierson claimed.

(10,437 posts)when no effort was made to correct that woman...as 100% of what she said was wrong or a lie....you would spend all your time correcting her "facts'.....there are those who care about facts and truth and those who don't....aligns up with those who vote for trump and those who wouldn't ever, not hard to figure it out

(15,223 posts)It's absurd that they continue to give her air time. They should just refuse to do it, and cite her constant lies as their reason for that refusal.
There are other Trump surrogates who, as bad as they are, are not as blatant and unhinged as Katrina Pierson.

(660 posts)combat (she is quick and alert), but she lacks experience and she hasn't yet taken enough tumbles to develop an ability to use humility effectively. When she senses that she is cornered, she opts for obfuscation or plain dishonesty. She doesn't place enough value on credibility.
If given a chance, she'll learn over time how to deal with weak positions. As for a philosophy, I don't believe that she really has one and that is one of the things that may make it harder for her to progress.
If she comes across as just a shameless hustler, there is a good reason for that.
