MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski begs Trump supporters to wake up: ‘This is a scam’

Mika Brzezinski saw right through Donald Trump’s meeting with some Gold Star families, who he later bragged wrote him a campaign contribution check.

The co-host of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” said the meeting, like the rest of the Trump campaign, was a “scam” intended to dupe Americans into thinking he cared about anything beyond his own selfish interests.

“I’m just trying to — because, look, Trump supporters, people who support Donald Trump, are people who should be respected for how they feel,” Brzezinski, pausing frequently and her voice cracking with emotion. “But I worry that they don’t understand that they’re being scammed, and they’re being scammed by somebody who’s really good at it, so it’s not like, you know, it’s their fault. But I will say that it’s a scam, what Trump is selling.”

“Talking to Gold Star families after the biggest gaffe in probably presidential politics, candidacy’s history, what he did with the Khans — he’s just trying to clean up,” Brzezinski said. “I mean, do you want someone who speaks from the heart and says nothing or says anything, or do you want someone who speaks from the heart and has some principle behind it and sticks to his word? This is a scam, and it seems like he has a lot of followers.”

Mika and Joe to figure that out? For over a year, no one in the media held Trump accountable for much of anything, in spite of the fact that there was so much to work with.

I'm glad they are speaking out now, but they should have been more vocal a long time ago. After all it was no secret that Donald Trump is a con-artist and grifter.

20. I have been saying this for a very LONG time

depravity - defined as moral corruption. Donald Trump and the whole Republican party are simply depraved. Their moral compasses are broken, assuming they ever had any. When the greedy acquisition of money and power becomes the highest value - far above people, that is depravity. When lie after lie about trickle down economics, climate change, helping poor people by cutting food stamps and school lunches, profiting off college students, allowing the usery of payday lenders, refusing women to control their own bodies, denying equal rights to LGBT people, suppressing the vote, gerrymandering districts, refusing to seat judges, withholding healthcare, privatizing prisons, social security, the post office, and everything that isn't nailed down - - when those positions are a political party's platform, then that party is the party of depravity.

DEPRAVITY DEPRAVITY DEPRAVITY. The GOP is an immoral organization. I want to see more DUers using the words depravity and depraved, when discussing the GOP and its candidates, who hold these positions. We need to emphasize a secular ethics that values people above money and power.
