2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumTrump met with Gold Star families?
He claimed to have done so in Jacksonville yesterday evening. I wonder if there's a shred of truth to it, or to his claim that one of the fathers handed him cash or a check that was "more than my family can afford."
I don't believe that his lazy campaign would even make the effort to reach out to such families.

(5,624 posts)1. I think there is as much truth to this story as
there was to the "purple heart" lie..........don't you? We know drumpf was told it was NOT the medal the soldier received but then he got up on stage and said it was...........
I can't believe anything that comes from those pouty lips and orange face.

(6,096 posts)2. Something didn't seem right about meeting with 6 Gold Star Families, I doubt if there
is ANY ONE of those families that would give him a check.....and he looked at the check like it would cover his house payment,
what an act!!!

(1,317 posts)3. I'd like a follow-up
But of course the campaign will cite "privacy" and not disclose the names of the (fictitious) families.

(4,918 posts)4. There probably are some families that would meet with him
And support him. I'm sure they weren't Muslim families. And if they gave him a check that was more than they could afford, he should have said thanks and given it back.
That said, it could just be his typical bullshit and lies.
