David Kay Johnson Takes Trump & Hillary To Task On Their Taxes

Just now on Lawrence O'D.

He went after Trump for his not releasing his taxes. Said even if he's under audit now, there's no reason he can't release years 2012 and earlier, which are not under audit (LO pointed out that there's no proof that he's even under audit). They talked about his book on Trump which has a lot of juicy and disgusting info in it about Trump.

As far as Hillary? Well, he said that Hillary wasn't happy when he "back engineered" her tax returns and found - get ready for it - she paid her taxes at DOUBLE the amount she should have. This had the effect of shortchanging the $ she was able to give to charity. Her charities were being shortchanged because the government was getting money that could have been going to charity. That made Hillary angry, and it led to her hiring Johnson as a tax advisor.

Worth watching on the rerun later tonight.

Johnson takes a few kernels and exaggerates and blows them out of proportion to get on TV. Typical.

Unlike Bernie and Jane, the Clintons don't do their own taxes. Any "mistakes" were made by some professional accounting firm, and it would not surprise me if the Clintons CPA chose to pay more rather than less if anything was questionable.

I saw that interview. I did not buy the book.

the book was about Trump. He spends half his time telling about making Hillary mad. Then he exaggerates a story about health insurance and baby killing.

He's a successful reporter who goes after niche financial stories. I've read one of his earlier books. He takes a point and sensationalizes it. Maybe good for the lead story to sell the paper or magazine or book, but not completely honest.

I'd prefer facts in context. Whatever content he percents gets lost in overhype. If you like his type of presentation, that's fine. Not for me.
