Whatever Happened to that Reagan Miniseries

It was to come out on CBS prior to Reagan passing, I think in 2000 or so, and Republicans lobbyed
to keep it from airing because it was said to have painted Reagan in a bad light. I believe it
was shown on Showtime and then I havent heard anything about it.

I would love for MSNBC (probably not now) or any other station to show it. They have elevated Reagan
to an almost Deity type status in the last 15 years and there hasn't been any critical analysis.

8 years of Reagan Presidency and the only thing I ever read/here is his "morning in America speech," / "There you
go again Jimmy", and "Gorbechev tear down this wall (which didnt come down until 3 years later)." But what else?
His approval rating in 1983 was in the 30s and he wasn't nearly as popular as this revisionist history would have one believe.

I remember when Limbaugh started the campaign to revise Reagan's time in office. He succeeded in making him a god to the republican party. Most people will never know the truth. Reagan began the downfall of the American worker with the firing of the Air Traffic Controllers.

Drugs flooding into the poor communities through various operatives in the Administration.

Destabilizing the Congo (Mobuto Sese seko) in which millions of people have died, Central America (Nicaragua, Hondorus, El Salvador), Cambodia, South Africa...so many millions of lives. If a historian were to do the actual research, I believe in totality the puppet dictatorships and instability (see Iraq GWB) he created across the globe probably resulted in more murders than Hitler or Stalin. The poor communities and communities of color were devastated. Yet he's put up as some Saint, above reproach. It's sickening.

From IMDB.com (can't link from my phone):
"Viacom originally scheduled the series to run on CBS, but moved it to Showtime after protests by the Republican party and a threatened boycott over its portrayal of the Reagan family."

Salon.com had/has the entire script here:
http://www.salon.com/2003/11/07/reagans_script/?ref=http%3A%2F%2Fimages.salon.com%2Fsrc%2Fads%2Fmci%2Fmci_splash.htm

Don't know if the link is still "live" or not...again, I'm on my phone and cannot tell. (Sorry)

Interesting that James Brolin played St. Ronnie as his son (Josh) was the star of "W". Pretty sure the family is good loyal Dems.
