http://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2016-election/trump-allies-plot-candidate-intervention-after-disastrous-48-hours-n622216The family? The kids? Seriously? They're depending on Trump's children to influence the Republican nominee enough to keep him from taking down a political party and destroying an election?
Just when I think it can't get any more Bizarro Land.

(4,640 posts)There's absolutely no indication Trump is considering leaving the race, a move that would seem wildly out of character for a candidate who has prided himself on "winning" and grasped at any poll that shows him dominating an opponent.
THAT is what it's all about for Trumpenstein. It's eating him ALIVE he cannot dominate Hillary.

(1,907 posts)Really? Get him to turn around and all of a sudden change all the way to his core? If he did pull off the appearance of going to general election mode and some how made it to the oval office what then? He would still be the same flawed person, but have the power of the presidency behind him. Are they fools? He has shown himself to be a dipshit and will stay a dipshit.

(36,926 posts)If, as I suspect, Rump has early stage dementia, he'd be quite capable of such a stunt, and have not one regret. They have to toe the line, unless and until they can have him declared incompetent. I wouldn't be surprised if this is an ongoing conversation between them.

him and have the straitjacket ready. Anything less will just make things worse for the Republicans. They won't like it either way.

Whats gonna happen most likely is some heads will roll on the campaign staff. Manafort first

(58,785 posts)According to what Howard Fineman was told by the campaign, Trump sees his candidacy as all about his own visceral reactions bonding with the American people. He watches TV, gets excited about something, tweets, wins.
Well, it did bring him this far. We should remember that most conservatives do NOT like Trump. But most were ready to fall in behind him.
