2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumAds - are they playing in your area?
I live in Virginia - a supposed battleground state.
We don't tend to watch many commercials. Most things we watch are on DVR or we purposely get behind to skip ads. We also watch a lot of Food Network and Science channel because of the age of our daughter. I do catch the local morning news mostly as pre-run background noise. I've seen Hillary and anti-Trump 3rd party ads (ex-military bashing Trump) but no Trump ads.
The Hillary ad which is highly effective, in my opinion, is linked below.
I don't think I've seen a single actual Trump ad. Our viewing habits might not be where the are targeting (seems like exactly where you should target) so maybe that explains it.
This is the "Role model" Hillary ad using Trump's direct quotes.

It's one about bringing manufacturing jobs back to USA.

(9,148 posts)This ad is genuine. It appeals to the desire to reign in the Media bull crap our children are subject to in everything they see. TV, internet, print & public conversation.
I have seen this beautiful ad played many times and it has the same effect everytime.

Hey with Duh Donald having days like that maybe they don't need to cover Hillary ...no they do. I guess she didn't have an event yesterday.

(9,148 posts)No wonder she chose to run her campaign as she did.
By taking herself directly to the people.
Guess Trump is their new cadaver to fill their bellies off of. $$$$.
Sick huh.

(58,670 posts)Don't recall seeing a Trump ad yet. Did see a couple of ads on local races that linked a local R to Trump.
Living in Seattle area. We're pretty true blue, except for one neighboring R district.

(7,638 posts)On Roku and FireTV I get a weird mixed bag. 1 or 2 Clinton ads with a spattering of deranged ads for the Librarians or Soylent Green parties.

(264 posts)Here in SoCal we would always see the lawn signs and bumper stickers come out after the conventions. I have not seen a single sticker or sign for the madman. Nothing at all. Any supporters he does have here are not going to outwardly show it.

(5,817 posts)but my "local" stations are in the Hampton Roads, VA area. I've been seeing a lot of Hillary ads but no Trump ads. Maybe I've just been lucky and missed them?
