Donald Trump Pitches Half-Trillion-Dollar Plan to Rebuild America’s Infrastructure

Donald Trump has a plan to rebuild America’s failing infrastructure, and it calls for “at least double” the spending proposed in Hillary Clinton’s $275 billion plan. That’s at least $550 billion, and “you’re really going to need more than that,” Trump told Fox Business Network in an interview Tuesday.

How would a Trump administration pay for such a plan given his insistence that he’s “doing the biggest tax decrease”?

“We’ll get a fund, we’ll make a phenomenal deal with the low interest rates and rebuild our infrastructure,” Trump said. He said that the money in the “fund” would come from bonds.

“We’d do infrastructure bonds for the country, from the United States,” he said. “We have to fix our infrastructure, but we have to fix it without cost overruns to get it done properly.”

they'll all be replaced with Donald Trump on the front. And, on the back, instead of iconic landmarks like the White House or the Lincoln Memorial, they'll be various Trump properties.

3. That's the problem Donnie, government bonds don't rely on low interest rates.

In fact, it is quite the opposite. The lower the interest rates, the less the bond buyers will get in return. You really can't run a government like a business dumbass.

Lower tax rates and raise the debt. Brilliant idea.

To all of you dismissing a 500b proposal, your arguments apply as well to Clinton's 275b proposal.
Just because Trump says he is for X doesn't make X wrong.

I thought it was strange to hear him talk about infrastructure spending at a gop convention, and judging by the mild golf clap he got the gop found it stranger than I did. The depth of his policy is to propose it and complain and lash out when it doesn't get implemented, a likely outcome with a republican congress.

shit that pops into his head.

My point was that the arguments up thread are pretty much the standard conservative arguments against deficit spending on public goods. What's up with that? If Trump announces that he will take drastic measures to convert our energy system away from fossil fuels to combat climate change are we going to pronounce here that climate change is phony science?

Sure, it's a good idea to rebuild the infrastructure, and now is a good time for the deficit spending since interest rates are low, but just declaring "I'm gonna spend twice as much as Hillary" doesn't win him any conservative votes, and his gaffes on the character issues won't go away.

Not gonna win and Dem/Liberal votes with this proposal. Nobody trusts him anyway.
