Discussed possibility of Trump quitting on Morning Joe

They said first Trump would have to quit on his own. Then (according to a guest on GMA) the RNC could decide who would be the candidate. It would not automatically be Pence. They said this would have to take place by early September.

is to speak to the only thing that motivates him. Money. Tell him to name his price, then back the truck up. Surely the mega-donors in the GOP would spend good money to have at least a decent placeholder in the seat, one that would still lose, but free up the GOP funds to protect their House majority. That's their only reasonable goal at this point.

How does one of the two major political parties in the USA remove a presidential nominee after they vetted 17 fucking candidates?

My thinking is that there is no such mechanism. We're well into clusterfuck territory here. They don't know what to do.
