blowing things out of proportion regarding Drumpf. Blake says he's riding the Trump train.

(11,949 posts)They know they have lost.
The guy had a greasy grin and kept trying to swing it back to Clinton, but Hayes was having none of it.
He finally admitted there might be something Trump could do to make him withdraw support, but could not think of any. Because Hillary.
And what a haircut! I swear the guy has his wife(or mistress) cut his hair with a floobee. Or whatever the hell that silly vacuum thing was back in the 90s.

(15,805 posts)are a pair to draw to, aren't they? Makes one wonder more than a little about the voters in some parts of Texas. Cruz and Cornyn are no better, and Greg Abbot is stunningly insipid. Need we mention the Bush family? Wendy Davis and the late Ann Richards are testament of occasional but alarmingly rare pockets of sanity in the state. To be sure, no state is perfect, but Texas is working overtime to stay at or near the top of the list for churning out ghastly politicos.

(53,339 posts)Because goodness knows that former soldiers receiving disability havent already made extreme sacrifices. For this country. To keep it free.
Let us quote the Congressman since this statement cannot be paraphrased
I feel like my mandate when I was elected was to go reduce the size of government, lower taxes, and increase freedom, and freedom isnt free, and sometimes you have to make a small sacrifice to move forward with what youre after, Farenthold said.

(349 posts)Knew him many years ago, and sad to see how he turned out. I'm afraid that I have to count it as evidence of too much computer use being bad for mental health. In those ancient days (about 30 years ago) he was one of the leaders of the Austin BBS community. Can't remember the name of his system, but it was one of the most expensive ones. Maybe the money was a bad sign of things to come?

(349 posts)Trying to figure out a Trump joke, but it was Bulletin Board System. Austin was one of the early hotbeds of pre-Internet computer networking, but the newbies have no memory... Now we live in perpetual September. (The new students got their accounts in September each year.)
Anyway, on the original topic, Blake was one of the early sysops. Quite an expensive hobby in those days, and my fuzzy recollection is that he'd spent thousands of dollars on his Apple-II-based system. He even had, wonder of wonders, a hard disk. There was a large BBS community in those days, and an entire herd of sysops.
