(357 posts)However, Charter Schools passed which will squeeze money (we're already grossly short on) out of education. Apparently that can be chalked up to outside money "investing" in something that they will profit from. I don't understand how people can think that kid's best interests align with "for-profit"?
I was happy that DelBene prevailed in her race for Congress (1st CD, I think).
And we still have a race to settle--Secretary of State.
Otherwise Dems swept the executive level state office. Love that

(1,043 posts)He won't concede. So with 40% and a 3% lead for Inslee we are going to have to wait for the final countdown.DelBene is awesome and I am very happy she took over Inslee's district.
Bill Gates and one of the Walton's funded the charter schools Imitative but we can still make them non-profit and control the curriculum.I am afraid they will fuel hiring discrimination among corporations. What if - you didn't go to one of our schools so we aren't going to hire you.
I can see that as a possibility and that is wrong. If the state takes the profit out of it and the hiring discrimination These corporate bozos will drop it like a hot rock.I hear the privates aren't very competitive academically either.
