I too think it's time now to stand behind the candidate that Bernie himself has endorsed. Sarandon is welcome to be rich and a democrat.

But being rich while spouting lunatic imaginary revolutionary Marxist claptrap makes you a hypocrite.

Only the latter category blames most of society's problems on the existence of wealth inequality of class power. The rest of us realize that rich Americans are citing citizens too and not automatically bad for being rich.

I have nothing against rich liberals. I'm not Sarandon rich myself but I'm very well off. I just don't like hypocrites.

I dislike MSNBC now and rarely watch. I watched CNN for the convention or CSPAN.

That MSNBC was very much pro-Obama at the time and anti-Hillary. It really bothered me at the time, because I really wanted to see Hillary get it. It's not that I didn't like Obama, I just thought it was her time and it would have been great for him to have been VP. I guess it worked out as it should have, and when Obama got the nomination, I was immediately on board, but I still can't help thinking that it would be great for her to have been Pres, and he'd be running right now, and we would still have him to look forward to, but who knows if it would have worked out that way.

If so, that is not a particularly tactful remark for Olbermann to make.

I just don't like the cancer analogy.

Edit to add: Having looked it up, her brother died of heart disease, not cancer.

Even so, I don't like the idea of using the cancer analogy.

It can be triggering for people who have lost loved ones to that disease (as so many of us have).

I'll self-delete my post. It was unnecessarily piling on.

The analogy to cancer is like the spread of the racist, filthy, uncaring, hate-filled mess that destroys everything in its path. I do realize that the analogy could trigger some people and I hope that doesn't happen.

She thought Trump was the worst political force of her lifetime. One of her last acts was voting for Hillary in the Wisconsin primary.

Olbermann needs to be back on air with a daily political show. The sooner the better.

I remember when everyone on DU chipped in to buy Elizabeth dozens and dozens of pink roses when her cancer came back. His big priority was ending poverty. Unfortunately his little head did the thinking, just like Bill. Stupid stupid stupid. I hate that Elizabeth had to die with a broken heart.

I wish I was rich and could be so ideologically pure, but I'm not.

Trump would be Ok? Is she nuts?

She came to speak to us in Wisconsin, in March. I was glad to have her there, but she kept complaining about how cold it was! Heck, I was there twice in February, by March it was nice! And my friends and I had stood outside for about 4-5 hours by then. That's my impression of her, could not stand Wisconsin in March. Just trotted out to say a few words to the masses, and left.

It is obvious that Trump is stupid and crazy.

He is, indeed, a danger to our republic.

but rich, white privilege on display from ms sarandon.

I can't agree with Obermann. I have a hard time admiring anyone whose thinking is so screwed up. Especially when such thinking leads to pain and hardship for others. Susan will stay ensconced in her rich privileged New Mexico hideaway eating bon bons and wondering why the hoi polloi can't be as perfect as she is.
