Talk me down about how these hacks will affect the election.

In addition to the DNC, we're getting reports that the DCCC and now Clinton's campaign have possibly been hacked.

This election is winnable when the playing field is level. The thought that our nation would legitimately prefer Clinton to Trump (and downballot Democrats to Republicans) but have Trump forced upon us by a handful of people is exceptionally depressing.

I fear an October surprise that embarrasses Clinton and other Democrats. Even if there were nothing truly illegal or unseemly, having leaked emails in the news is not a good thing, and the media will latch on to anything. We know this. "There is nothing that directly implicates Secretary Clinton in these emails, but is the campaign doing enough to overcome the damage with voters? What do you think, Nicole Wallace?"

One might say, "This is reminiscent of the Watergate break-in, and look how well that turned out for Nixon!" Nixon was still elected, though, only to resign in shame. I want this country to have nothing to do with a Trump presidency.

Something tells me someone from the Trump campaign is going to be implicated in this hacking. There is something big brewing. The slime ball won't be able to talk his way of of this.

More likely it's a government entity such as the Russians or the Chinese. And that of course would be far worse than any pranks that Trump could try to pull.

Any emails they got will no doubt be boring.

The drama of Wikileaks publishing emails from the DNC only show that the Republicans have to cheat in order to win.

You can put Hillary in the White House right now. Trump has peaked out and will slowly slide to a foot note in the history of politics.

The one sided nature of it makes it like Watergate. Bad for the Rs.

is that the rogue foreign intelligence agency involved in this can plant false data in these information streams. I think the Dems ought to dispute as much released info as possible to call into question its legitimacy. This will call these data dumps into question. We have to control this for 100 days then the focus on it will be more from a criminal or international law intent.

Honestly you need to talk yourself down. You can only plan for the foreseeable. You are asking us to tell you that something is unlikely when we have no data about what that something might be. That's impossible.

However what is possible: the recognition that worrying about complete unknowns is a waste of cognitive resources. Don't do it because it wastes energy.
