(8,791 posts)A workmanlike speech. Which is true. But he also said that Clinton was being herself which is important. Also said the speech was very progressive.

(25 posts)Then again, I think some of the over-the-top praise the speech is getting on here is also kind of off the mark. As ever, the truth is probably somewhere in the middle. I wouldn't characterize it as a "great" speech but I thought she did well. Speeches/bluster aren't really her strength. Intelligence/grasp of the issues is her strength and that comes out better in a low-key setting.
Also, if I'm being honest, I just really couldn't care less about speech giving abilities. I mean, they don't really tell you anything about how a person will govern. It just tells you that they're very good at looking natural while reading a teleprompter. Charisma doesn't hold a lot of sway with me.

(8,704 posts)They wonder why MSNBC ratings are low. Having a former bushco employee on to speak about Democratic Convention. Americans know that bushco was one of the worst Presidents in history.

(12,327 posts)Ugh.
Why on earth would she expect Hillary to give a speech that appeals to Conservatives? Hillary is a Democrat. It's the Democratic
Convention! WTF?

(1,400 posts)as they were being too positive. Like Rachel criticizing Bill's speech last night. MSNBC is trying desperately to get more FOX viewers.
