I'm 6'5", and am an absolute midget compared to this awesome guy. (I attended/worked for UCLA for 30+ years, so I saw him frequently.)

It's been great to see Kareem emerge from his very private life in recent years. Now a novelist, he's been on book-signing tours and chat shows; this year, he also did a terrific HBO docu on his life, and the reasons he felt he needed to keep a low profile in the past.

He's an all-around brilliant guy.
