Just heard on MSNBC

One of their female reporters just said she was talking to some Bernie delegates and has found out that there will be some kind of protest tonight in the convention hall possibly during Hillary Clinton's speech. In other words, they will try to embarrass her while she's giving her all important acceptance speech.

These people give new meaning to the phrase "sore losers."

ruthless selfishness, contempt for the needs and opinions of others, and whatever dishonesty and self foolery are required to sustain it all are very characteristic of people with at least some extremist traits. On both the right and left.

There's a reason they're called extremists, and it has little or nothing to do with issues and everything with how they regard and react to the world around them. Anyone doubting that should remember that Bernie's positions in this election year are all traditiuonal, long-accepted and supported liberal positions. That's why a large majority of his support is from mainstream Democrats.

And of course you're right that there may well be some right-wingers in there. They're fraternal twins who both are full of hostility toward moderates but who hate Democrats more than anyone else.

I was Bernie from the start. I have a history of being for the most progressive candidate in the primary. I also am very much on record about opposing nepotism in politics. I made a documentary film that was distributed nationally on that very issue. I am adamantly anti-war. I have plenty of reasons that Hillary is not the best candidate for me.

None of that matters when the choice we have is Trump versus Hillary. The decision is not even close. If the Bernie or bust folks cannot see this, I want nothing to do with them. Please go away and don't come back until you are ready to support our party. We vote for Democrats here.

The convention center is the Democratic Party's "house" for the time being. It's fine to make your opinion(s) known and to communicate your message of dissent. That's happened. Let's see if it continues to happen when the cameras are off. If they want to protest outside or elsewhere in public spaces, that's fine. But just like no one has the right to come into my house and heckle, yell at, our disrupt my routine, these protesters need to understand that there is a certain level of respect that needs to be conveyed. Just like they were invited in, they can be uninvited if they cannot demonstrate simple respect and courtesy.

The convention of the "Big Tent" party should be about more than just maintaining "appearances" ..

Had not the DNC emails been leaked, we wouldn't be seeing any of this, not at this level. Throwing
out delegates at their own convention would only insure the Party pushes them to Jill Stein. If they
get the rage at being defrauded out of their system at the convention, they may remember that and
vote for Hillary anyway.

I think some of these people were not prepared to accept anyone other than Bernie Sanders as the nominee. I think the email leaks have intensified the situation, but I really think that some of these people are not conducting these actions on principle.

I am good friends with several Sanders delegates that are disturbed by what went on at the DNC. However, anyone who is pushed to Jill Stein at this point is no better than a Trump supporter. In fact, a Jill Stein supporter IS a Trump supporter and a supporter of all the things that Donald Trump stands for. The Sanders delegates will not support Trump in any fashion, but these protesters are a different story.

Hillary Clinton was not my primary choice. But here we are. Yes, the system is rigged. This contest has made me more committed to changing the system than ever.

I'm proud of what Bernie did and I'm proud of Bernie's supporters standing up and fighting for others. But we have a house that's drenched in gasoline with Donald Trump holding a lit match. If he gets elected, he will render the protester's efforts near meaningless.

The point has been made. Now what are these protesters prepared to do to fix this rigged system? Are they going to work at the municipal, county, and state levels to change the rules and regulations? Or are they going to pack up their marbles and go home?

Their disruptive behavior causes the teacher or principal to make new rules and punishments that hurt the learning environment for the disrupters themselves and all the other students in the class.

Those who feel strongly about their principles should use their energy in community and political action in order to bring about real improvements rather than evoke backlash that profits no one and in the end casts a shadow on their cause.

I'm sure that all true progressives are embarrassed and chagrined by what they perceive as childish and pointless attempts to get "bad attention."

Obama was right: "Don't boo. Vote." Jump in the arena and work hard to make sure your cause is effectively promoted.

Protesting is often appropriate and necessary. But effective protesting is done with non-violence, decorum, and foresight as to what is best for expanding the movement. Effective protesting requires lots of training in order to avoid counterproductive behavior.

I would hate to see morons disrupting, along with Hillary's speech, the entire progressive movement.
