Not Sure What To Make of a Friend's Facebook Post

I have a Facebook friend who I cant figure out. He never gets into politics at all. I've known him for years and he was a wild guy but the type of guy who would give you the shirt off his back. He got married and divorced at a young age and met a new girl who was a MAJOR REBORN CHRISTIAN. He started going to church and bible study several times a week, quotes the bible non stop and so on. He never talks dirty and makes inappropiate jokes like he use to. No longer does he swear like a truck driver. Even though he still likes some 80's metal music, his dark side is gone. He use to love horror movies and dark themed stuff like Tim Burton and campy sci fi/horror films.

Now all he does is call is guy friends brother and woman friends sister. He can not go a day without quoting scripture and telling me how good Jesus is and how I need to bring him into my life. Having said that, he never talks politics. EVER. Well, this mornong I saw this posted on his Facebook page. What do you make of it?

"just going to drop this one political thought...hopefully the only one that will ever pass through in this forum.....at this point in the count the loser is actually ahead in popular votes by over 100k....now this may change by morning but i find it interesting that people say every vote counts......unless you live in a state that doesnt matter.....hoping one day they will change the way we count votes and someone comes along that i dont think about vomiting when i hear their name spoken and feel compelled to support....probably around the same time athletes stop cheating and people start using turn signals....goodnite....God bless"

Thoughts? Should I even respond?

"hopefully the only one that will ever pass through in this forum"

then goes on to make the point about every vote counting, before he waited for every vote to be counted.

IMO he should have waited to post that when the final popular vote was in. It would make his case. I always assumed he might lean towards Obama since he strongly supported him in 2008. Once he became a reborn though he stopped talking politics, which I thought was odd.If he REALLY wants to remain neutral, then why post or mention anything about the election? I feel he enjoys the guessing game and may be a tad frustrated and needs to vent.

Mitt had the popular vote for a while last night.
As for hoping that some day someone will come along that he will vote for without reservations. Which is what I took from "someone comes along that I don't think about vomiting when I hear their name spoken and feel compelled to support." Seems like a standard way of saying, that hopefully one day there would be better candidates that one could full heartedly support.

Can't really begrudge a person that sentiment.

Besides, it also could mean, that he feels like he was being compelled to support someone maybe Romney who he doesn't seem to like.

I'm not gonna respond. It's jjst that so many right leaning family and a couple friends made their feelings very clear and his was one I could not read very well and was hoping some here might be able to look at it and give me their thoughts. I agree with you though. If does not want politics in his life then I'm cool with that.
