For me it was Obergefell that started the tears

As great as the decision for marriage equality that he sued for was, he never got to enjoy it. His suit was about the death certificate for his husband. By the time they got married in Maryland he was nearly dead. He died less than a week later. After that Ohio refused to issue a death certificate to him that showed he was married. Seeing him helping cast Ohio's votes choked me up. We are closer to that more perfect union in more ways than one.
