Some serious ignorance at JPR about the roll call vote

they actually think that each individual's vote is supposed to be submitted and tallied on the convention floor. They don't really don't understand that it is a roll call of states and each individual states tallies it's delegate's vote in private state meetings (many voted this morning) and the results are announced during the roll call.

They are screaming their heads off about cheating and stealing the vote. Truly amazing.

He was a DUer who passed away; the site was named after him. It doesn't seem like his style, though; at least not any more. I signed up when it was first created, when Sanders supporters were getting a lot of crap on DU - it seemed like a safe place to go to avoid all that. But I really think they've lost the plot. I don't go there any more; I guess I'm another sellout.

JPR is an example of what can happen when an echo chamber is created. The site was the result of perceived harassment of Sanders-supporting DUers and it was viewed as an escape for those who were exasperated at all the sneering and condescension. But as annoying as the anti-Bernie behavior was, I don't like echo chambers. I didn't even especially like the Bernie and Hillary groups on DU, although I understood why they were set up. Unfortunately they eventually turned into little more then places where each candidate's supporters could rant without interference about how horrible the other candidate's supporters were. This, of course, ratcheted up the mutual animosity to eleven. That's what echo chambers do. That's what JPL has turned into, sadly.

that, not to mention them endorsing the "lock her up" chants and calling Clinton a "b!tch" and a "c@nt"

It was never about supporting Sanders, as they're now disowning him.

There was a lot of ugliness on this site, flowing both directions.

We're putting that behind us though.

I've been a DU member for more than 10 years.

I am a Bernie supporter. I never got involved in the primary wars here, but I have been seriously put off
by the condescending, contemptuous attitude for those of us who feel the Democratic party has veered
away from its concern for and determination to represent everyday people.

I went over to JPR. I no longer feel I belong there. I do not think that voting Jill Stein is the answer. I do not agree with disrupting the Democratic
convention to holler in favor of Bernie or against Hillary.

A couple of days ago I got my first hide--in more than 10 years here--because I expressed astonishment that Hillary would reward
DWS after her resignation over the DNC e-mail leaks with an honorary chairmanship for her campaign. It really came off as a slap
in the face to Bernie supporters. Was it really necessary?

So, here I am. I don't feel welcome here at DU and I don't feel at home at JPR any more, either.

I won't vote for Trump. He is dangerous. Really, really dangerous and can't be allowed anywhere near the White House.

Does Hillary even care about whether I vote for her? I don't know.

it is not like there is any question who will win. I think the roll call vote is important and necessary - I can understand why Bernie's supporters want to see their vote for Bernie announced to the world.
