2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumCheck In If You've Abandoned CNN/MSNBC & Are Watching on C-Span/Live Feed
DO YOURSELF A FAVOR!
Turn off those network shills and watch OUR convention via the much better option of the Direct TV Live Feed (Channel 347) or on C-span. It is a totally different and POSITIVE experience. Hear ALL the speakers, watch ALL the videos, without the biased, negative and destructive commentary from the pundits, commercial free and happening in real time.
There is an option. Don't feed the network beast!
Here's another option: https://www.demconvention.com/live/

(58,785 posts)I turned on MSNBC and CSPAN and abandoned MSNBC almost immediately. I had to in order to see the convention. They wouldn't stop hogging the cameras to start covering it.
Been flipping back when my attention wanders ever since only to find CSPAN is almost always much better.
Something else: CSPAN picks up more sound from the entire crowd and less specifically from the angry Bernistas.

Comentators tend to forget that THEY are NOT the story - what's going on at the convention floor is the story.

(80,708 posts)If they're spinning it as chaotic and not united, they clearly have an agenda.
Because the live stream, everyone is behaving themselves, unified, and enthusiastic.

(934 posts)There go MSNBC's ratings for the convention. We probably would have been among the dozens of people watching them this week.

(5,754 posts)and I noticed the difference in the microphones right away. Keep the speaker's mic turned up and turn down the audience like you're supposed to.
You get to avoid all the media talking and can concentrate on the convention better.

(6,977 posts)Had to watch "network" coverage. They're talking over each other, the speakers, trying to SPIN the coverage, stir up "SHIT."
NO THANKS.
I'm on C-SPAN, and enjoying it to the hilt.
