Let's adhere to one principle...

It is not fair to hold individuals responsible for the behavior of his or her group, in anything. That is a hallmark of liberalism.

I am apoplectic with the disruptors but not all the supporters of Bernie Sanders are disruptors.

And Bernie is doing everything he can to quell them.

These people- these protesters- make me want to vomit.

Bernie himself requested NO PROTESTS. Who the feck do they think they are. They are making ALL of us (Bernie supporters) look like jerks and tools of the right. I am beyond disgusted.

There is a small minority of Sanders supporters that are too passionate to see past this one moment. They may feel this is the ultimate battle for the soul of the Democratic Party but there are a million more battles to come and all they are doing is damaging their own brand. Screaming random things during speeches is going to make it impossible to know what they want and its going to turn off a lot of people that may have been sympathetic to their cause.

I give her credit for taking one for the team.

Back when the Republicans were semi-sane -- say, the Eisenhower years -- top GOP leaders had the wisdom to know that McCarthy and the John Birchers were malignant and needed to be kept under leash.

Unfortunately, we need to acknowledge that we have that ourselves. To 98% of Democrats the stakes are clear -- fascism or democracy -- but there is a childish 2% that is in love with their own resentment.

I wish Bernie and his (very largely sane) supporters every success in engaging with and to a real extent transforming the Democratic Party. But to the other 2% -- the ones for whom politics is theater, and for whom the soliloquy never ends -- well, they can go to hell.
