2/3 of my GOP relatives are voting for Hillary

Ok, ok, so I only have 3 GOP relatives. But we were hanging out with them this weekend -- my sister-in-law, my brother-in-law, and my brother-in-law's mother -- and the two women are adamantly for Hillary (I wrote about the mom's reaction here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/12512283421). My brother-in-law is still thinking of only voting down-ballot, and I knew I was never going to sell him on Hillary's merits; Instead, I told him, "look, you're a Jeb/Kasich/Rubio kind of guy. If you ever want your party back, you need to see Trump not just defeated but destroyed. And that means holding your nose and voting for Hillary." He seemed persuaded. It's just one family, in a blue state, but I'm feeling pretty good about November. GOTV!

If they pass along that information to other friends and family, it could turn into something awesome! Every vote counts...

(or something like that. I am not a big Meatloaf listener.)

I have only one relative and no friends who are Republicans. And my relative never discusses politics, since he is a lone wolf in this matter.

This is what comes from all of us being descended from a tightly knit family that never voted Republican and all of us having lived in blue states.

Trump, but refused to attend the convention in his own state.

I think a fair number of republicans, while they may not admit it, will vote for Hillary

No criticism to OP intended (can't imagine any basis to infer this, but always have to be explicit it seems) but I can't recall seeing anyone not applaud such news here. Regardless of how far left or how centrist a Dem anyone here is, they acknowledge the benefit of anyone with right of center tendencies not voting R, whether they waste their vote on Libertarian/Constitution Party irrelevancies or even better switch to D. Any non-Trump RW vote helps HRC.

And I agree. So far so good.

So why do so many here pretend the exact analog doesn't hold for left of center voters? Why do we get so many hiding behind banal mathematical non sequiturs pretending that a LW vote for Greens or SPUSA doesn't help Trump?
