Bernie Sanders Supporters Chant ‘Lock Her Up’ in Philadelphia Protest Against Clinton

Wall Street Journal:

PHILADELPHIA — It’s not just Republicans that want presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton in prison.

At a lively Sunday march in support of former Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, chants of “lock her up,” “Hillary for Prison” signs and t-shirts and calls for indictment were common among the most ardent supporters of Mr. Sanders, who arrived in Philadelphia to make their voices heard to the delegates attending the Democratic National Convention.

Republicans used last week’s Republican National Convention to make the case that Mrs. Clinton’s perceived ethical lapses made her unfit for office. Delegates to the Republican convention could be heard chanting “Lock her up!” while “Hillary for Prison” shirts and bumper stickers have proliferated across the country.

Mrs. Clinton hasn’t been accused of any criminal wrongdoing — in fact, Federal Bureau of Investigation director James Comey explicitly said that her use of a private email server for government work did not rise to the level that would justify criminal charges. However, Mr. Comey called her “extremely careless” in her handling of the nation’s secrets by running her work email off a private server, while a State Department probe concluded that she was in violation of Department rules.

I'd like to think this is Republican infiltrators, but...

As the anti-establishment candidate, he unfortunately attracted some toxic loons to his cause.

These people were toxic, Hillary-hating loons before Sanders announced--they aren't his fault.

They are a tiny minority of the people who voted for Sanders, and their voices do not matter to us.

I hope they enjoy the heat.

He knew his own words were all he had to damage her with. He had no criminal charges to hit her with, so he hit her with his own words and feelings. he admitted that no credible prosecutor would bring charges against her. When Comey testified, he was just part of the show an played his part. Philly was going to be a mess even without the emails disclosure.

Those protesters were echoing sentiments from the Republican Convention. They are not Sanders supporters at all. Bernie Sanders has endorsed Hillary Clinton and will do so again tonight.

Such people are Trump supporters, not whatever they are pretending to be. There are plenty of such people slinking around the fringes. They should be recognized as what they actually are, not characterized as what they are not.

I don't know how anyone can defend this, I really don't. But I won't. It appears to me that anyone who self identifies as a 'Bernie Supporter' lives mentally in a house divided. People cannot say they support one candidate and do or support something this despicable to the clear winner of this party's nomination. The first female candidate to boot. Shame, shame, shame.

If someone does not want to vote for Clinton/Kaine, I get that. But this???? No, I can't and won't accept this. THIS is what the tea party was like and it functionally shut down our government making it very difficult for the nations presidential choice to get business done. So this says to me that we have migrated from a 'tea party' to a 'me party'.

I support my party's Clinton/Kaine ticket and will continue to do so.
