Sanders: Leaked DNC Emails In No Way Change My Support For Clinton

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) remains committed to supporting Hillary Clinton after WikiLeaks released a trove of emails revealing that Democratic National Committee officials tried to undermine his presidential bid.

Asked Sunday on NBC’s “Meet The Press” if the emails gave him “any pause” in his support for Clinton, who he endorsed in June, Sanders said, “no, no, no.”

“We're going to do everything we can to protect working families in this country,” Sanders said, saying the election was not about Clinton or Trump but about “the people.”

He treated the email hack as a distraction, saying it was important for Democrats to remain unified in their opposition to Trump, who he called “the worst Republican candidate” he’d ever seen.

That Ted Cruz moment that Republicans (and an alarming number of Democrats) were hoping for isn't going to happen tonight, guys. Sorry.

I voted for Bernie Sanders myself--but I was prepared to support Hillary if she won the nomination, because I knew the cost, especially if Trump was the nominee on the other side.

And yes, I'm well aware that this is the refrain every four years--but it will continue to be the refrain until Republicans choose someone sane as their nominee. The country will, like it or not, be worse off if Donald Trump becomes President, and anyone who is turning up their nose at Hillary Clinton needs to realize that.
