2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumWe allow anyone to be spectators at caucuses, DNC rules meetings etc, until yesterday
Suddenly some D's are outraged we ever let our way of doing things be public. They are defending changing in a weeks time how we as a party suddenly closed the door on witnessing a meeting. Why?

Omaha Steve
(99,658 posts)How do you know they wanted to disrupt? Nothing happened until the door was shut. Now if they had been allowed in AND THEN DISRUPTED, I'd agree with you.

The smaller space used for today's meeting was carefully guarded, to the disappointment of Sanders supporters. Dozens lined up and failed to get into the room, prompting chants of "open the doors" that security guards could not honor without packing even more people into a standing room-only venue.
MohRokTah
(15,429 posts)They only went to DISRUPT!
The appropriate action was taken against these miscreants.
Omaha Steve
(99,658 posts)You have a credible link they were going to disrupt?
I doubt the doctor in the video was there to disrupt. Or the little old lady. Or....
MohRokTah
(15,429 posts)They had no business there and were only there to disrupt.
This shit has to stop from the extremists on the Left!

(99,658 posts)Why no video monitors for overflow or net viewing? Our party is OPEN for all to see...until yesterday.
geek tragedy
(68,868 posts)could be something nefarious, could be the larger room wasn't available, could be any number of other reasons.
the bigger story is that they're going to cut the number of superdelegates by 2/3, which appears to be a 2/3 victory for Sanders.

(47,209 posts)Before this to have them be "open" doesn't mean they were always able to accommodate whoeverwanted to attend. That's ridiculous and you should know better. It's nullshit spread by Trump loving rat fuckers. Not the truth
Omaha Steve
(99,658 posts)So far this attitude to shut Dems out is not helping unify the party for this week or Nov.

stevenleser
(32,886 posts)hearing.
The fact that some of them may have been delegates is irrelevant. Were they members of the rules committee?
Omaha Steve
(99,658 posts)Not a difficult concept.
Your still defending locking the public out against past policy!

(56,177 posts)An anonymous poster makes claims about nefarious and underhanded tricks when a room simply isn't big enough, and you just eat it right up...seriously, Bernie is over the primary, you need to move on
Omaha Steve

What have YOU got that shows intent to disrupt????
joeybee12
(56,177 posts)FFS, there were Sanders supporters on the committee...they were being represented, but those goons, those worthless goons think only their views matter...disgusting...
Omaha Steve
(99,658 posts)Non committee members in a certain group were allowed in... IF you know what I mean.

(2,897 posts)I think we've had enough public platform meetings to know how some of the Bernie folks will act when they don't get their way. Maybe they wanted to get some work done instead of having to deal with chants, jeers, and stunts when the losing side loses.
