We are going to need all hands on deck for this one.

Joe the Revelator
(14,915 posts)there just isn't any comparison. She's the only sanity (aside from Gary Johnson on the other side) out there. She's killing it in this speech.

(62,276 posts)Has there literally been ANY OTHER CANDIDATE MORE LIBERAL THAN THIS?
HAS THEIR? Name one. A single one.
FUCK ANYONE who doesn't think this woman is not the MOST LIBERAL CANDIDATE IN HISTORY.
Hey, jury. As Clinton literally just said, "WE NEED MORE LOVE AND KINDNESS IN THIS COUNTRY."

(4,311 posts)She is such a grownup. She's never sounded better to my ears, after the shit show in Cleveland. I already liked her and supported her, but MAN.
"WE NEED MORE LOVE AND KINDNESS IN THIS COUNTRY". You're damn right we do!

(4,311 posts)The shooting spree in the shopping mall. It's quite bad (9 dead) and the killer is still on the loose. It probably wasn't appropriate.
DCBob

(8,733 posts)I think she was leaning towards Tim Kaine but recent events and pushback from liberal progressives will likely Move her toward Tom Vilsack or Tom Perez.
At the end of the day all we can do is trust her choice and hope for the best.
auntpurl
(4,311 posts)The news is saying the events in Munich influenced her decision not to announce.
angrychair
(8,733 posts)I'm also hoping for a different outcome.
Again, she chooses who she chooses but I have my preferences too
You make a good point that she would want to avoid overshadowing other issues that are more important right now. Thanks!
auntpurl
(4,311 posts)But if it's Kaine, I'm still 100% onboard. Especially after that fantastic speech!
I would prefer Becerra, Brown, Booker, Warren, or Perez over Kaine. I prefer Kaine over Vilsack. How lucky we are, having so many good choices. Trump scraping the bottom of the barrel desperate to find his VP, and Hillary has an embarrassment of riches from which to choose.
But Kaine is probably the safe pick.
I suppose it depends on whether we're more likely to pick off voters on the far left or the middle. And how influenced those people are by the VP pick. The extreme left who refuse to vote for Hillary won't do so no matter who she picks, but there may be waverers on the left who want to see a sign from Hillary that she's going to continue in a progressive direction. A Warren/Brown/Becerra pick would make those people feel more confident. If you're picking them off from the middle, then Kaine is absolutely the right choice.
I think Hillary has a fantastic team who is privy to more information than we are, and I am sure they are considering all of the above and a hell of a lot more when making this decision. I trust them and her to make the right choice.
DCBob
(24,689 posts)I think the Hillary team is very cautious and simply playing prevent defense. Kaine does no harm.
Stinky The Clown
(67,819 posts)Liberals would like Perez. Vilsack not so much.
Also, I can just see the attack ad featuring his treatment of Shirley Sherrod.
joshcryer
(62,276 posts)Munich probably overshadowed it.
Just posting in case a reader sees your question and wants an answer.

(24,689 posts)Unfortunate but wise to do so.

(19,118 posts)Trump had a disaster of a convention and that only had 1 night that wasn't considered a failure. This is her week now and she will dominate the news cycle.

(4,311 posts)She was absolutely bloody brilliant. And she LOOKS amazing! Beautiful physically with light in her eyes. SO different from the dead-eyed zombies in Cleveland.
I actually got tears in my eyes. I am SO GRATEFUL and SO PROUD to be a Democrat! Fuck anyone who says she's not perfect so she's not good enough. She's AMAZING and we are SO LUCKY to have her!

The whole thing was wonderful. Her take on the "I alone" Trump statement, the divisiveness of the whole Republican convention, followed by the contrast; she used "we" most of the time.
