(3,040 posts)Hacked the DNC email server and stole all their emails then gave all the emails to wikileaks. Wikileaks then released the emails in a keyword searchable database.
Russia wants Trump to win and thinks that this will help Trump.
It will have no effect on the election.

But Trump getting intelligence briefing--meh no big deal.

(44,187 posts)cutting off email headers to make it appear to be a "smoking gun" when it was nothing of the sort.
Bernie said HRC won fair and square, and I have zero reason to doubt him.
Maybe I am more skeptical of Putin's blatant attempts to help Trump win than others are.
notadmblnd
(23,720 posts)I sure would like to see it.
emulatorloo
(44,187 posts)The email was from a vendor to the DNC. The header sender was cut off by "GUCCIFER 2.O" to make it appear that it originated with the DNC. It was discussed for days on DU, with some gullible and conspiracy minded DU'ers falling for the manipulation.
That should give you enough info to find it with a Google search.
If you cannot recognize a pro-Trump disinformation campaign from his fan-boy Putin, I cannot help you.

(23,720 posts)You said they've been debunked. I asked for evidence. You can not provide it. But if you want to keep going around in circles about it, I'll be happy to- as it will keep this thread kicked up where others can see it.
BTW, I can provide links to each and every email that Wikileaks released in regards to the DNC emails.
Again, have a great afternoon.

ag_dude
(562 posts)I'm saying that telling other people to find a source for something you cited is a commonly known tactic used by people who just make up lies and expect them to be taken at face value.
The responsibility of providing a source rests with the person who used that source.
emulatorloo
(44,187 posts)That clears it up.
More accurate description is I am just too lazy to spend a couple three hours googling to find a DU thread I remember reading several weeks ago which debunked Guccifer 2.0's first email leak.
Slothful and lazy, I willingly accept. You can add fat to the list too, given I'm still wasting time on DU rather than getting some exercise.
Take care and
ag_dude
(562 posts)And the "I could do it but I don't want to" tactic is textbook as well.
You're not lazy, you could have posted the source for what you said happened about a dozen replies ago.
But you've chosen to attack the people asking for a source instead and there's almost certainly a reason for that.

(37,748 posts)That's a creative allegation lacking objective evidence... a bumper-sticker.
That said, I really do sympathize with anyone who is unable or unwilling to rise above the simplicity of bumper-sticker thought, regardless of whether it's due to simple mental laziness, or an unshakable bias and faith-based thinking.
That's also all that matter. Part deux.

(44,187 posts)One of these "smoking gun" emails was released a while back by Guccifer 2. Turned out it had been edited and manipulated. On that basis I am skeptical about this latest Putin document dump.

(18,672 posts)As a Bernie supporter who plans on voting for Hillary, I am not happy with this at all.
On edit: After having read some of the emails, I have to say this is pretty devastating. The DNC (along with Putin/wikileaks) may have just handed the election over to Trump.

(90 posts)War may not be peace, love may not be hate, but our dear adversaries know very well that ignorance is strength. Anything that sounds even remotely like "Secretary of State" and "e-mail" (cable, what's the diff, eh?) is grist for their mills. If people weren't smarter than this, the forces of darkness would have swallowed us up long ago. I have an enduring faith in the inherent wisdom of regular folks, as should we all.

(7,321 posts)It seems Assange played progressives big time.
IF there's anything of any significant substance allegedly planning to release during the DNC, his timing should at the very least be considered suspect.
I do believe his bias appears to be in favor of a Trump victory. Might have even made a deal with Trump for his release in the event he releases so called "indictable" evidence of criminal activity.
If that is even remotely true, obviously, I'm just speculating.
I can't describe how effed up that is. But so far as I'm aware, I've only taken a cursory glance at this latest "damning" release, it's just campaign stuff. Really nothing worthy of the hype whatsoever.
In my view he's played progressives big time.
floppyboo
(2,461 posts)there is nothing extraordinary here. Nothing that any campaign wouldn't be planning and discussing. I don't know what the party rules are re. collusion with the DNC - if that's a problem, then, well, there's a big problem.
2banon
(7,321 posts)That's the long and short of it. of course the Clinton Campaign colluded with the DNC.
They own that organization! As a Bernie supporter of course I'm not happy about it, but we didn't need wikileaks to reveal stuff we already knew in terms of the big picture. Just confirming what we already knew.. but I don't understand how it's a problem? It's not like Federal Crimes were committed, that I'm aware of.
