2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumimho, sec. clinton needs to choose bernie sanders.
after watching this circus called the rnc convention, I'm would bet serious money that a lot of folks that don't really follow politics would vote for hillary if she pulled in bernie sanders as a running mate. if she doesn't and she goes with a tim kaine she still has a good shot to win but it's not going to be a sure win. a lot of people are wanting to see some of the old ways i.e, high wage paying jobs that don't require a doctorate become more normal. mrs clinton by herself doesn't seem to bring hope of that happening by herself and a tim kaine isn't going to help her with that.
the dnc needs to be real careful at this point in time, this is one of those events that can do down in history as "how the hell did that happen". by the way I'm not a big fan of bernie sanders.

(1,474 posts)After that primary, I would likely question her sanity if she chose him as her running mate. I don't want to re-engage over the primary as that is against the rules, but it was very ugly and insulting and personally insulting and personally insulting with false fabricated lies.

(9,148 posts)She's made it this far, against the fascist shitstorm RW, she is clearly capable of making her own decisions as to who best supports all she wants for America.
Bernie doesn't represent that. Neither do a lot of people.
Why would she choose bernie sanders over E Warren, Perez, or those who have always stood by her in support?
Has he officially conceded yet?
Give it up.

(9,397 posts)you there are a lot of folks that ABSOLUTELY do not like hillary clinton. these are folks that have voted democratic in the past. I just have this feeling that this could be one of those interesting moments in time. mrs. clinton needs to really think outside the box on this upcoming campaign.

(9,148 posts)He brought little new to the policy table that wasn't already in the Dem, Pres Obama & Hillary's platform.
But he sure had a lot to say against her & divided the Party. Yet she stands tall & solid in spite of it all.
He would make a lousy VP choice.
Enough of bernie. Primary is over.
Hillary will be our candidate & will choose a VP that truly has her back.
VP is place of trusted loyalty & honor for the President he or she will serve.
Bernie has shown none of that most necessary requirement.
And that was the path he chose.
He should go back to the Senate and help her change the gridlock put upon this nation by the GOPTeaParty.
I believe Hillary would choose another Dem anyway.

By the way, it would be great if you could learn what the shift key is. A lot easier to read.

(12,504 posts)the fact that so many cannot see that there is non of that between Sanders and Clinton, yet are constantly pushing the meme seems weird.

(11,155 posts)Voted for Senator Sanders in the Primary but he is too old to be Sec. Clintons running mate.

(126 posts)No way. Sanders has been catered to enough. He had an excellent run. He forced Clinton to be the best she could be during the primaries, which I think was very good for the process. The majority of DEMOCRATS said, "Thanks, but no thanks." Sanders was the warm-up and would be a huge turn-off to many Independents and those GOP who are already switching to Clinton.
I would love to see Warren as VP, but I trust Clinton to make the choice she believes is best. I can't wait to cast my vote for her and her running-mate in November.

(5,943 posts)Bernie doesn't suffer fools well, and I really don't care to see him get riled up any more than he typically does. I don't think that would play well on TV.

And didn't one of the people Sanders insisted be named to the platform committee just endorse a non-Democrat for president?
Thanks Bernie. You can sit down now.
