Related: About this forumThere is only one way to put a cherry on top of this trainwreck of a convention.
If the balloon drop completely fails, that would be the cherry on top.

(15,391 posts)A few years ago I was talking on some decorator forums about balloon drops as some potential clients were wondering about them. I've never done one nor care to because I don't like heights. We segued into political conventions, and I said something about how both conventions have had problems with balloon drops before. Turns out the guy who does the RNC every year since the 80s and was considered a star in the decorating business was on the forums and lashed into me saying that the RNC has NEVER had a problem with their balloon drop because of him.
So if he's still doing it, it will probably go off without a hitch.

(1,712 posts)A cherry on top would be Kasich making a last minute appearance to talk to the press outside, minutes before Trump takes the stage, confirming the story that Trump tried to get him to take the VP slot and all the presidential duties.
THAT would be a cherry.
