Does anyone believe that Melania did not do this herself at this point?

Taking 2 days to come up with some way to 'save face' is telling. As is not firing the staffer who agreed to sacrifice herself. Now they can never fire her, because she will spill the beans.

1. Melania is totally guilty. It's pretty obvious that they finally agreed on a way that they

thought would take the blame off Melania...when in reality it looks like political campaign trickery run amok. I know that whenever I see her in the future, the first thing that will pop into my mind is "plagiarist".

Donald was so afraid of the never trumps that he had to stall it until after the nomination vote.

They found someone to fall on their pen. Probably NOT the one that did it. I doubt Melania did it either. They would want the best writer for the maggot's wife.
The fact that she is not fired is telling.

5. I think there's another possibility. That Trump himself had a hand in it.

The original speech was said to contain some light teasing. A narcissist wouldn't abide that. So either he rewrote the speech or instructed someone else (like his son) in how to do it.

I can't see Trump letting his wife speak without his approval and editing of the text.

mistake can only be made by an amateur. It was either Melania or the family. Either way, Don found a way to blame someone "outside"...but now they have to placate McIver for a good long time. I hope she knows that her story would be worth quite a bit as a book or movie deal, so she is not necessarily beholden to the Drumfs. (Although they apparently have all of their employees sign non-disclosure agreements.)

as he says of himself, failed miserably at not having the best speech writers, then when things go wrong, he is even worse.
This moron thinks he can run a country???
ok, like Trump steaks, vodka, Univ, Taj Mahal, a game, a magazine, (what else?)
into the ground or bankruptcy.

Love it, they are just said the maggot is loyal, ask Corey Lewandowski.

she's the 'fall gal'.

If she had and Dumpster would have fired her for not coming forward sooner.

Someone is lying. You would think they would have at least got the timing on the cover story straight.

and they can never be wrong. Daddy especially can never be wrong.

Usually this is no big deal, they live in their little world and all their servants know the deal and collect their pay checks. Now, however, they have to operate in the public eye and they get called on their nonsense (FINALLY I must add).

I worked for a family run business, on a much smaller scale of course, and it was the same. Only certain people were allowed inside the inner sanctum and any indication of a lack of obedience (really a lack of praise for the family) was immediately punished, usually by ....wait for it...FIRING them.
