Vox - The Republican convention’s fixation on locking up Hillary Clinton is really disturbing

The vindictiveness of Donald Trump is in full display on the second day.

http://www.vox.com/2016/7/19/12232608/republican-convention-hillary-clinton-lock-her-up

CLEVELAND — It’s pretty disturbing to hear a large crowd at a major party convention repeatedly call for the jailing of the leader of the other major party.

And I’ve heard that happen again and again at the Republican Convention so far, as the clear favorite chant of the attendees is: "Lock her up! Lock her up! Lock her up!"

It’s not just the crowd. Three speakers at the podium on the first day of the convention called for Hillary Clinton to be jailed.

* * *
Now, I can’t really believe I have to say this, but here goes: in a democratic society, it’s really disturbing for a political party’s leadership to basically endorse the idea that its main political rival should be jailed.

Obama would just have to pardon her on the way out the door to preclude that.

I know Nixon resigned to keep charges from coming. And the ford did pardon which was weird and cost him the election.

There's never been any requirement that somebody already be charged and convicted.

President Obama must give Hillary a complete blank check pardon from 2008 to 2016 or that is all the Repugs will do for her 4 to 8 years.

Because presidential pardons specifically do not apply to impeachment, only to federal prosecution.

That should have Hillary Clinton tossed into jail?

And do they just want her tossed into jail without a fair trial (to whatever the fuck she did?)

I was very apprehensive of President Obama making it through his campaigns and presidency alive. I am grateful that he has made it, so far.

I am feeling the same way, but more uneasy and apprehensive, about Hillary. The extreme hate and abuse are vehement and unnatural. They are screaming for blood.

They damn well better not do it.

Long before he came for the Jews, he came for the communists and social democrats; those who openly opposed his rule were locked up, sent to work camps and worse.

The likes of Susan Sarandon may think the election of Trump will result in a liberal revolution, but a fascist movement is more likely...WAY more likely.

The fact that some feel this election isn't important boggles the mind...

way they can without being held accountable for the lies and deception. In fact, it can be said the media ENCOURAGED it because more drama, outrageous comments (you lie!), and emotion sells. Didn't matter if it's true.

So the GOP starting in on the next president/administration, making sure they piss all over any policies, candidates, history etc in order to delegitimize anything not coming from them. And, again, media does not analyze for accuracy, justice, or truth.
