(145,554 posts)There will be a couple of roll call votes on the rules as adopted by the rules committee on Monday. Clinton delegates are already being "whipped" on these votes.

Democratic primary voters don't need Super Delegates to save them from themselves.

(58,785 posts)For instance, left-wing populist and left-wing fascist movements are very real, provide opportunities for strong, charismatic leaders to overcome all establishment safeguards against them, and have the potential to destroy nations.
We have a wonderful, strong structure, but that a good 2/3 of the nation have been taught that our government is causing all their problems is currently a dangerous weakness. A scary weakness, because if a bad leader came along and united populists from the far left and the kind of rightists we saw at the GOP convention, these people would burn our national structure down and cheer doing it. It could happen here.
