2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumWhat happens if Trump quits a few weeks after the convention?
After he officially gets the nomination, what would happen if he would say "SCREW IT" when Hillary is tearing him a new one during a debate and he just quits and says he's done?
Maybe I didn't ask Google the right way because it was all over the place about death, money, delegates...
I have a headache and my asthma is kicking up so I'm asking you all.
Thanks.
on edit: DUH!!! Damn headache. That's right Pence. How could I forget him? Then Pence gets to pick another forgettable person to run with him.
Of course there's always Neuter or Crispy waiting in the wings.

(5,737 posts)he may very well walk off the stage during a debate after Hillary does not respond to his insults the same as the other clowns did in the GOP primary debates. She can and will piss him off to no end. i could easily see him saying to hell with all of you and walking away. if he quits, he can blame everybody else but himself. If he gets beaten in the election he can say that everybody worked against him, but most would know better. I look at it like Trump does a money losing casino, he walks away.

(17,865 posts)but you vote for an elector. Some states bind their electors - others do not (also whether that is even Constitutional is also a question).
You could have cases in which Trump appears on the ballot (note that you are not actually voting for Trump but a slate of electors).
What would the Party do? Who would they back? That is a very interesting question.
