Funny how they stressed Melania had been working with a speechwriter on her speech for weeks.

The Trump campaign didn't say Melania had been working on her speech for weeks. They explicitly said she had been working with a speechwriter for weeks.

Not that working with a speechwriter is anything but common in politics. But you barely ever hear them mentioned before a speech is given.

It was Trump himself who wrote the speech, did the plagiarizing. It fits his out of control ego, certain he wouldn't get caught.

A professional speech writer would know better. A staffer wouldn't possibly think they'd get away with it. And the kids would know how easily it could get traced back to one of them.

Only Donald exhibits enough hubris to pull off something like this.

And that's why no one is being fired, IMO.

Divorced? Perhaps. But no one will be fired over this.
