Related: About this forumSo help me Manafort just blamed Hillary.
On MSNBC. He claimed Hillary was trying to take her down like she did Bill's paramours. It is a GALLFEST.

(110,159 posts)are trying to get here, in the discussion. Feminists ever talk about women's issue, men often will try to do the same with us, against other women.
But, did Clinton even say anything last night? I have not heard a comment from her. Really brazen blaming Clinton if there has not even been a peep.

(41,991 posts)That Michelle's speechwriter used to be Hillary's, so basically they liked Hillary's speeches, or something like that. Very tongue in cheek.
If I were her I'd stay out of it. They're sinking that ship just fine on their own.

(2,367 posts)The Clinton camp should stay mum as long as possible. This is a "please proceed" moment if there ever was one.

(2,792 posts)They could have plagiarized from one of Hillary's speeches.
And the crowd would have likewise mindlessly applauded.

(2,792 posts)The problem is that the Trump campaign is amateur hour on steroids. He can't or won't pay for real professionals, so he lets his bumbling family cut their political teeth on this stuff.

(35,701 posts)"There's no cribbing of Michelle Obama's speech," Trump's campaign manager Paul Manafort said on CNN Tuesday morning. "These were common words and values, and she cares about her family ... things like that."
"I mean, she was speaking in front of 35 million people last night, she knew that," he added. "To think that she would be cribbing Michelle Obama's words is crazy."
Manafort also blamed Democrats for trying to attack any woman who threatens Hillary Clinton.
"This is once again, an example of when a woman threatens Hillary Clinton, she seeks out to demean her and take her down," he said. "It's not going to work."
Democrats rejected the idea that they had anything to do with it, and said it's up to the Trump campaign to explain how the speech so closely mirrored Michelle Obama's.
