Robert Costas: A Lot of Anger in Trump's Inner Circle Over Speech

Some of that is at the press because it always is but they are also doing an extensive review to figure out anyone responsible. Costas also said he sources were using the word "furious" as the current state of affairs in Trumps campaign right now. Apparently they are realizing that this could be a massive problem.

In addition:

Michael Steele "If the paragraph in question is identical and apparently it is, you're not going to finesse this, you're not going to want to finesse this...you want to sack whoever responsible for it, however many people had their fingerprints on this thing....someone is going to get it and get it good.

I have heard some rumors that Manafort had some input in the speech. This might be the "Night of the Long Knives" over at the Trump campaign.

Melania, in probably a unwise moment of false attribution, claims she wrote the speech.

On camera, in an interview for NBC.

I wonder if someone snuck that in and then advised her to say that she wrote the speech.

You're right, between the plagiarism and her saying that she wrote it, clear as day on TV, there is extensive damage that has been done.

The racist base of the GOP could careless. Just as long as they get their hate fest. The rest of us sane people are never going to vote for Trump.

Joe was saying that if somebody else wrote the speech, Trump could fire them. But, he can't fire his wife...

umm, you don't know Trump that well, do you Joe? He wouldn't fire her, he would just divorce her.

The Republican Convention, with its D-List actors, bad pacing and plot, and the misunderstanding about Melania's speech, is like the first 25 minutes of a Three's Company episode.

But the fact that she made a "pre-"confession is really startling. How many people confess to a crime before they do it?

are probably furiously having someone rewrite their speeches now to remove the paragraphs they've plagiarized.

On being asked WHO would take the fall for "cribbing" Michelle's speech: "There was no cribbing of Michelle Obama's speech. These were common words and values, and she cares about her family... I mean, she was speaking in front of 30 million people last night. She knew that. To think that SHE would be cribbing Michelle Obama's words is just crazy.

Then he tried to blame the plagiarism scandal on Hillary:

"I mean, this is once again an example of what happens when a woman threatens Hillary Clinton how she will try to seek how to demean her and take her down."

Then on being asked again about the cribbing, he returned to denying that MELANIA would ever do such a thing, etc., etc.

Besides trying to put it on Melania, this man uses lies as a major tool, with a number following. Manafort completely denied his own words insulting Ohio's Gov. Kasich in the morning, including "...dumb, dumb, dumb", even though they'd been discussed on cable all day. Oh, yes, and on Giuliani's rant: "I thought Mayor Giuliani was a little understated." Lol.

I'd trust this man the way I'd trust my cat to guard a bowl of cat food.
