The networks and pundits would have already cued up Michelle Obama's speech. Her speech in 2008 was her real introduction to most of the United States. Melania Trump's speech tonight was her first real introduction to the country. Of course there would have been comparisons of the two speeches.

Perhaps most of the pundits would have reviewed Michelle Obama's speech ahead of time so they could look for key phrases to do their on air comparisons. I can imagine many of them listening to Melania Trump's speech tonight and going

On the other hand...There are far too many similarities between the two speeches for it to be accidental. Too much is taken word for word for that to be a possibility. So the real question in my mind is if Melania Trump was set up - if someone gave her those phrases directly out of Michelle Obama's speech to use, knowing that it would be recognized.

I really don't give a shit about Melania - she chose her life and her path. I do wonder who was ready to sabotage her on the opening night of the GOP convention and make her a laughing stock to the media and the country.
