(5,275 posts)Could they go the way of the Whigs? We are moving into a bizarre stretch of history to be sure. When one of the current big two nominates a reality show bozo all bets are off.
But tens of millions will vote for this orange clown, which pretty much proves they would vote for an eggplant if it got nominated.

(2,419 posts)Chairman refused, said a voice vote was enough. Someone made a point of order asking for a roll-call vote, and the chairman refused that. Apparently, the anti-Trumpers wanted the Rules to contain a measure that would allow delegates to "free" their votes on the convention floor.
N.B. I'm not an expert, I'm just watching C-Span.
